Content Moderation Policy

You are invited to comment on the topics being discussed at The Women’s Network Australia Blog.  Relevant discussion and debate are encouraged.  Before posting, please make yourself familiar with the following:

  1. We reserve the right to edit, move or delete comments. Inappropriate and rude comments will be removed. These include: threats; slurs; abusive or obscene language; personal attacks; promotion of commercial services or products; and spam.
  2. While email addresses are required for commenting, they are not published on the blog, nor are they shared. They may be used by the blog administrator or post author to privately contact the commenter.
  3. Anyone who repeatedly violates this policy may be blocked from making future comments and posts.
  4. To protect your privacy and that of others, please do not include personal phone, email, or mailing information in the body of your comments.
  5. Any comments containing links will be moderated before they are published.  Links that have no relevance to the subject you are commenting on will be removed.

Just a note on self promotion.

Using blogs to promote your business is a legitimate traffic building strategy provided you do it the correct way.  The most import thing to remember is to post a comment that is relevant and adds to the discussion. Don’t post a throw away line followed by a paragraph of blatant self promotion.  We will remove self promotion text and only leave relevant comments if they add value to the topic.

To promote yourself, you may provide your name or the name of your organisation and website url in the fields provided when you post a comment.  We recommend registering an account with one of the login providers to take full advantage of promotional opportunities.

Post relevant comments.  If people are interested in what you have to say they will click on your name to learn more about you.
