What Makes Your Business Bling!
April 27, 2009 8:00 pm Business Strategies, Marketing, NetworkingI was reminded last week of yet another business lesson. That being to never underestimate the power of the little things you do in your business, because they can have a huge impact on your bottom line.
Let me explain – To add a bit of sparkle and fun for when our Members are out and about networking, some time ago we added a special business card holder to the range of products we sell in our online shop. If you haven’t seen them, they are our gorgeous bling business card holders.
Now on the surface this addition may not appear as the most serious of business products – but due to the fact that we know and understand our demographics, this little product has turned into a ‘must have’ business accessory for business women across the Nation. But it was not until meeting and greeting guests at our events across the country last week that it dawned on me just how powerful ‘bling’ could be. This tiny little product has become one of the catalysts to the growth and expansion of our network of business women across the Nation.
As always, I make it my business to ask women attending our events how they heard about us or what prompted them to attend one of our business luncheons. Not one but three business women attending our Melbourne luncheon for the first time said the reason they were in attendance was because they had been so taken with a bling business card holder their friend had been using. Apparently the conversation went along the lines of where did they make the purchase, that then lead on to how excellent the networking and business results are when attending WNA events, which went on to where all roads lead – becoming a Women’s Network Australia Member. So what’s your ‘business bling’? Besides your website, which should be promoting you 24/7, what is acting as your silent sales partner out there in the market place?
What makes good business bling:
Your clients need to be proud to carry the product and use it.
The product needs to draw attention and facilitate conversation when used.
It must be relative and add value to the services or products your business offers.
It needs to support and inspire your clients in achieving their goals.
It needs be affordable so the market saturates with advocates for your business.
But mostly, whatever you choose needs to create a win-win situation for all parties involved.
