Growing Your Online Business

12:10 am eMarketing

Frankly these days if you don’t have an online presence you have no hope of succeeding in business. Over the past year I have spent a vast amount of my time soaking up everything I can about everything online.

At times it’s been a real struggle but I am so enjoying developing my new skills set. Very soon Women’s Network Australia will celebrate its 20th year and I know that for the organisation to be relevant and celebrating its 30th birthday we have to progress and build our online and multimedia functions.

For those who still question the success of online marketing take note of Sportsgirl’s Chief, Elle Roseby and what she has accomplished in the last 12 months. Imagine if she’d sat there relying on foot traffic into their stores. Doesn’t rate thinking about really!!

I really think that the online medium is there to allow women to succeed regardless of their status as single women, stay at home mum or working mum. The flexibility and potential it offers is there for women to use as it best suits their situation.

What I love about my website, my blog and any online presence really is how it saves me paper and money! I run workshops in time, stress and declutter management. I can just tell a whole audience - the information you need is on my website. No more snail mailing. And no more producing expensive (and boring) colour brochures. Love it!

I am definately one of the converted in terms of online shopping. Plus it is great for busy Mums to shop and perfect for Mums working from home such as myself and having a paper-free resource in this day and age is really the way to go. So many advantages….

I totally agree. The online medium will be the way to go in the future and we will be using press releases to market our online stores more and more and it will become a norm. I’ve just started my online store a couple of weeks ago and it’s not as stressful as starting a retail store, because the overhead costs are next to none.

Yes, I cannot think of what my business would be like sans the internet! Actually it wouldn’t exist. Great platform for connecting with people and sharing resources and information. Streamlines activities and evens allows you to experiment without all those overhead costs, all you need is patience and time.

    Hi Ladies.
Yes, I certainly think that an online presence is mandatory for businesses these days. it’s like your business card or brochure was many years ago. It’s a great place to have all your important information so you don’t have to blurt it all out in one breath when meeting someone. Subconsciously, we already judge the professionalism and commitment of a business as to whether they have a website or not, and then the more expensive the product or service the more professional the site should be. However, in saying that, a website is nothing if no-one sees it and this is where old fashion networking, relationship building and referrals comes into to play, alongside website marketing strategies such as SEO and adwords etc..
